Reading Rainforest
Plainfield Public Library’s Young People’s Room, the “Reading Rainforest,” is our gift to the children of Plainfield. Featuring a rainforest mural, new computers, a media center, puppet theater and a special area for tweens, the space emphasizes today’s environmental issues while paying tribute to the multiculturalism that is Plainfield.
Schools, Camps, etc. MUST call ahead to make arrangements for groups of more than 10 children.

Getting a library card
Any child who who lives or goes to school in Plainfield may apply for a library card. Applications for children must be signed by a parent or legal guardian. The Young People’s Room offers a growing collection of parenting books geared to assist with your child’s education at home and school.
Teachers
You can still request class visits while we’re closed. While we cannot host students and teachers at the library, a librarian can come to your class for an in-person visit. During the visit, students can sign-up for library cards and learn about our resources, especially our online resources available during the construction closure. To schedule a class visit please fill out this form, or call us at 908-757-1111 ext 1200.
